This is my writeup for my game as the renegade in the US May Days Without Stife game.
If you don't know what that is then see (TODO put some link here)
Day 1
To start off I got 3 telegrams of note
From the Arrows of Artemis
Head to Windheart, can talk?
From Young Empire
'Lo! Emily here! This + Comm
with a trade offer to build a base in exchange for Leafburn which I started in/with
Finally I got a trade request from Museborn for Leafburn in exchange for Electrum which after some negotiation I got 1.5 Electrum for which based on one person in the discord is comparatively a .5 electrum profit + really funny.
In retrospect I should've negotiated a bit more for a commend but oh well.
Also I'm not sure if I'm sending enough telegrams or not or if I should send longer ones, 30 might be enough for me to willy nilly send messages but it might also be barely enough for a full day
One thing that's a bit bleh for me is that on the first day I'm going to not be around for 3 checkpoints due to an irl committment so hopefully that doesn't hurt me too much.
Also when I am active I may be a bit overly schizo with clicking the open for business button
Overall I have no plan and no clear allies yet but if arrows leave me on read after I changed how active I was with others and moved towards them I will blap them barring a lack of alternate targets
One thing I just noticed is that the Highway man also moved towards arrows which suggests they got a similar request from them.
After asking them the answer is "no" but with my phrasing they might have been asked while being given details of a plan.
Brotherhood and muse are looking like non-allies but friendly otherwise via bases.
I'm dumb any agent can do forum stuff, I was annoyed at arrows for no reason.
Oh and Muse wants to pay to not get attacked maybe, otherwise not much of note.
Note: need to send offer for UN protection to Muse
Regardless Muse almost gave money to have me reveal information that didn't matter to me but alas they just had me publically state I'd do the thing I was doing anyways in exchange for money.
Anyways I might be framing the arrows as attacking the young empire with me as a proxy. You see the arrows wanted to gaurantee holding Siren song but I wanted to clear as much land every turn as possible (being paid where possible). As such they wanted me to ambush in Leafburn and move to siren song. But due to prior priorities I thought it'd be better to move siren song to velock due to messing up with ambushing at siren song. and not having anything better to do with the army.
As such I negotiated for that and got to blow up masks who left me on read for the entire first phase even after I tried to initiate a basic conversation over telegram.
I will need to consider if/how I'll blow up ptolems for them leaving me on read but they do have the second UN so idk.

Otherwise day 1 is done in terms of negotiating and actions, all that's left is to chat with masks and empire about what happened and figure out what to ask from Muse.
Day 2
I asked for 1e from Muse, awaiting response.
Reached out to Masks and Empire to setup forums so we'll see how that goes, I may get to arrows a bit later than intended depending on length of convo with masks.
One particularly tricky thing currently is the lack of cities without any units in them at least in the east but hopefully negotiations with the young empire can solve that to allow me to blow up ptolem.
Anyways UN has moved to bearhearth so getting to chat with the Muse now, arrows have shown up as well which is nice.
The lack of open space continues to be a problem, the fact arrows have two bases is even more of a problem, hopefully empire can help solve that latter problem we'll see after 2nd train.
Okay it's 2:58, Empire seems more interested in trying to have me not attack in the north than in doing stuff in the west but Ptolems seem to have poked Muse enough that I can get there anyways.
Units
| Unit | Position |
|---|---|
| Renegade | N/A |
| Misc Unit 1 | Siren Song |
| Misc Unit 2 | Kingsland attack |
| Misc Unit 3 | N/A |
Okay... empire have made an unfortunate mistake. More specifically for the Siren Song situation they didn't try to negotiate or chat with me, instead they decided to favor being aligned with the arrows.
The reason that's a mistake is that now there's no plausible way for arrows to lose either of my bases meaning I need to work with them... you know the empire's enemy.
That is the kind of prioritization that suggests they will never pay me as well so in addition to prioritizing arrows my optimal move is to kill them now so they can't pay my competition.
Well it'll be optimal to let them live on turns where they give me enough electrum to think they can only offer peanuts to my competition but otherwise killing them is the optimal move.
That said emotionally I'd prefer to kill arrows but that would definitely lose me the game.
This may be the wrong play but oh well.
Arrows are going to be thrilled when they see the neutral spot. lol
Okay day's done, I got a good chuckle from the arrows in exchange for some dashes and arrows pointed out the empire had a commend so... wow they really really misplayed and arrows really did a good job playing the siren situation to their advantage, if they win they deserve it.
We'll see how their play with me compares to how the Muse played because as things stand if it's equal bids I'm probably giving Muse the game.
Day 3
Arrows have indicated they intend to buy everything on the last day originally with 18+-2 electrum but things didn't work out how they expect so it'll be less.
They're keeping things private as a matter of not having agents try to double deal but tbh they'll need to pay good money for the next turn or two for me to not do that to them at this point.
Anyways I have a few potential deals, we'll see how many go through, arrows offering 3 + collateral in exchange for two armies attacking muse, muse paying 0.1-0.2 for gaslighting and young empire paying 1 (may go higher if gaslight works) for an agent to attack with 5 for leveling up a commander.
Muse attack went through, muse went from paying for gaslighting to paying to actually attack and multiple protection rackets failed.
Also I may have started a war between Muse and Masks+Arrows although Muse vs Arrows may have happened without me.
Seeing an after action report from the arrows will be interesting because from my POV they've somehow convinced empire and Masks that they should work toegether trust me bro which seems a bit crazy but we'll see.
